Eric Tyreese Davis Jr. was arrested on multiple warrants in 2019 and later charged with first-degree murder stemming from the October 22, 2019, killing of 31-year-old Ontario Marbury.

According to court records, Davis agreed to serve 75 percent but not less than 60 percent of 15 years as part of a plea agreement for the felony charges at an April 14 hearing in Judge William Goodman's court. He has 2 1/2 years of credit for the position he is in.
While the state's maximum sentencing guidelines range from three to 15 years, Davis' attorney, Stephanie Ritchie-Mize, said that because the assault resulted in death, her client received a higher sentence.
"In our view, aggravated assault is not usually a high-level offense, and Mr. Davis was a Range 1 offender because he had no prior felony convictions," Ritchie said. "Typically, (serious assault) would carry a sentence of three to six years."
The agreement also settled another lawsuit against Davis Jr. since 2020, where he was charged with assault, drug possession and evading arrest. While being held for attempted murder, Davis led police on a foot chase that resulted in the injury of a deputy with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

The sentences for both cases were to run concurrently, and all other charges were dismissed, records show.
Ritchie-Mize told Clarksville Now about the deal. KNOXVILLE, Tenn. Jaylen McCollough was arrested with a serious injury, leaving his status for Saturday's game against No. 3 Alabama in question for the sixth volunteer.
Coach Josh Heupel said the team learned of McCollough's arrest Sunday night. The Volunteers (5-0, 2-0 Eastern Conference) host Alabama (6-0, 3-0) on Saturday.

It was the Vols' third arrest since mid-August, with two other players dismissed from the team. Linebacker William Mohan, who transferred from Michigan State, was arrested on a domestic battery charge, and linebacker Savion Herring was arrested on a domestic battery charge.
McCollough is a four-year starter at Tennessee and is tied for fourth with 23. He struck out seven in a 40-13 win over then-No. 25 LSUs there.
The 21-year-old security guard was arrested on Sunday. An arrest warrant obtained by Knox shows police responded around 3:30 p.m. in the apartment they found a man with missing teeth and a bloody and swollen mouth.
