ROOSEVELT - A man who lived in Utah less than six hours ago has been arrested in eastern Utah and accused of hitting a man with bolts from an excavator, police said.

Ruben Yazzie, 43, was booked into the Duchesne County Jail on Wednesday for aggravated assault and battery and drug intoxication.

According to a police booking affidavit, Roosevelt police were called to the apartment Wednesday where they found a man "sitting on a chair, with blood on his face and bruises on his head and face."

The affidavit said he told officers he was lying in bed when he was "hit in the head with a bolt from a drill press," and saw Yazzie walk away. Police found Bolt lying in a pool of blood in the garage.

"The injuries suffered by the victim required her to be referred to Salt Lake Hospital by a plastic surgeon to reconstruct her face," the affidavit said.

Police also noted that "Ruben had just arrived in the area to work on the rig and had less than six hours when the incident occurred. Ruben is from New Mexico ."
