Suarez International Glock Slide Review - It's a big day of smiles for First Gear - we've got something to share that's almost as unlikely to be misled in terms of a "recommendation". If you see the words Neusel in there, good for you: we admit we haven't filmed it yet. But so many things seem to be done right from the start that the potential for problems seems close to zero to us.
All things considered, we've often said that the Glock 19 was hard to beat. Out of the box, the combination of goal count, size, reliability, and remarkable "shot" is world class. That these form factors have been so widely replicated (and in many cases well) can be a testament to our proposition, not to mention widely adopted by specialized units in military and law enforcement agencies around the world.

If that wasn't enough, there are several upgrades that improve upon those stellar basics. A while back, we did some of these mods in semi-steroid mode, building an all-stock Glock G17 in an "open" weapon configuration. It was a resounding success, if we may say so, but as we observed at the time, it was not an everyday type of gun, but a little too much with many vectors. As you may also recall, part of our rationale was to test some functionality
The problem is that such a transfer is either a big money or a do-it-yourself venture, and that's not for everyone. This brings us to Suarez International's "Kompressor SI-319" slide and barrel. If our build leaves you even a little wanting for the compensation and reflex sight in a Glock rig, then it's hard to imagine, let alone get, one that looks as good as Gabe's latest.
The designations "compressor" and "319" tell the whole story, believe it or not. In the first case, it is a match-grade Suarez barrel of suitable length and thread for the four-port compressor structure (two tops, one on each side). Second, they foreshadow a G19-length slide in a "Gen3" configuration, and are based on the 17-4 (stainless) steel internal slides that Suarez has offered since 2009. By the way, the outlines match with delightful precision. (Not everyone does; just saying).
Well-sloped front and rear cocking serrations accommodate almost any method of hand web and slide manipulation from below. A well-reduced rated spring makes these methods easier than usual and wraps around a non-captive steel guide rod. (Gen4 owners may be concerned about this, but no, Suarez says: it will work with Gen4 pistols.)

Well-sloped front and rear cocking serrations accommodate almost any slide handling method. Suarez was an early adopter of red dots on defensive pistols in the first place, so it was no surprise to see slider cutouts for optics as well. Our sampler came with a favorite on board: the Trijicon RMR (a 7 MOA amber). Bright and strong, the Dual Light dims well for indoor ambient lighting, but positively glows outdoors. Co-witness is easy with Suarez notch-and-post at the right heights.
Our sample was finished in Suarez's relatively new Aqua Terra Plus finish. The color is, er, beautiful: faint greenish-gray in some lights and angles, almost bronze in others. We fitted it to black and FDE frames, and called it a tie-in - both look great. Functionally, Aqua Terra is a PTFE/nickel finish with similarities to NP3, therefore
For now, that's all we can tell you: As we said, it's not yet in range (an itch we'll scratch.
). But if G19s are your thing (and at least one should be), we think the Compressor/319 is the ultimate 21.

Does anyone have any experience with Suarez products? This slide is well made and feels solid. Any suggestions would be great.
I put a Suarez RMR cut slide on the P80 frame with factory Glock internals and barrel, also factory Glock parts. It has worked perfectly for about a thousand rounds so far. There are no unusual wear patterns on the slide or cylinder. I am happy with myself. I have tested it on 2 other G19 frames and no problems.
Got one for my gen3 19 a few years ago they had a black friday sale. After replacing its recoil spring and sliding the back plate with an OEM Glock, it seems to be working fine now. I ended up swapping my factory slide for the RMR because Suarez needed more rounds before I believed it.
Some of my Glocks have Suarez International parts. I was in a Suarez red dot training class in Prescott, AZ. In the class, several people and Gabe Suarez handled weapons that Suarez made. All the guns worked great, I put a few rounds in some and they worked great. I wouldn't hesitate to run one of your slides for EDC.

Gabe has been through many trials and tribulations, but I know a few people who took his courses and bought him some Glock accessories. They swear by not only people but also their products.

I think he was the first to use and appreciate the red dot system on weapons... I could be wrong about that.
